CPTLCPTL Terminal

Open the CPTL Terminal

The Terminal runs on your own computer, as prop firms require, so it opens from there, not from this website.

Open the Terminal

Not opening? Start it first by running cptl-terminal. Not installed yet? Install it below.

$ cptl-terminal
CPTL Terminal running at http://127.0.0.1:8777
Opening your browser…

Keep it running while you trade. Your stop and target sit at the broker as a bracket, so an open position stays protected if your computer goes down.

Install the Terminal

About five minutes. You need Python 3.10 or newer on macOS, Windows or Linux. NinjaTrader accounts need Windows.

01

Get access

Become a member on the Get started page. Your personal install link arrives by email after payment.

02

Install

Run the command from your email in a terminal window: pip install followed by your link.

03

Start

Run cptl-terminal. It opens in your browser, where you create a password, connect your accounts and pick an algorithm.

Why it runs on your computer

Topstep's API rules: “All trading activity must originate from your personal device. The use of VPS, VPNs, and remote servers is prohibited.”

Prop firm rules

Orders come from your own machine, so your account stays within your firm's rules on automated trading.

Your logins stay with you

Broker logins and keys are encrypted on your computer and only ever sent to your broker. We never see them.

Nothing in between

The Terminal talks to your broker directly. There's no CPTL server in the order path that can go down.
